The European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO) is the only professional body in the field of veterinary ophthalmology that is officially recognized by the European Board of Veterinary Specialization.

At the ECVO, we strive to provide expert care for animals with ophthalmic diseases via our residency trained European Specialists in Veterinary Ophthalmology, who can offer the highest quality service to the animal owner and the general public .

The Primary Objectives of the ECVO are:

• The encouragement of clinical and scientific research in veterinary ophthalmology
• The advancement of veterinary ophthalmology in Europe
• The establishment of recognized, post-graduate training programmes known as residencies
• The examination and certification of veterinarians who have successfully completed a residency
• The promotion and dissemination of the results of this research
