Global Equine Nutrition I (GEN I) is brought to you by Dr David van Doorn (ANIVADO) and Dr Andrea Ellis (UNEQUI). This course provides the fundamental equine nutrition knowledge that is needed to formulate and evaluate rations for horses using an online ration calculation programme. This course is aimed at an international audience with a good basic understanding of equine nutrition and feeding science like animal science and veterinary students/graduates who only received a limited education in the field of equine nutrition. GEN I provides the fundamental nutritional knowledge needed to formulate rations for healthy and diseased horses that will be addressed in follow-up courses offered by ANIVADO. This course deals with the principles of equine digestive physiology, digestion, feedstuffs, nutrient analysis and feeding systems will be discussed in depth in the context of recent advances in knowledge and in relation to various geographical environments.
